• Using the Library card, you can borrow items and manage your user account.
• As student or doctoral student of the medical faculty of Mannheim you may use the textbook collection

• Detailed information on how to search for books, journals, articles, theses, ...
• We provide borrowable EndNote CDs for literature management.
• We order literature from other libraries for you if the Library does not stock the item you require or it cannot be accessed online.

• Inside the faculty network (also comprises the Library premises) you have access to licenced electronic resources (e-journals, e-books, databases).
• From outside the faculty network you can access the electronic resources with your library card login.

Doctoral students with an employment contract

• Printing and scanning is free of charge with a Library card, see Printing in the Library. Photocopying is possible with a coin-operated copier as well
• Concerning the use of the PCs/notebooks see Using computers in the Library.

Doctoral candidates and doctoral students without an employment contract

• Printing, photocopying, scanning is possible with print credits by using the library card. Photocopying is possible with a coin-operated copier as well.
• Concerning the use of the PCs see Using computers in the Library.

• Training courses of the Library: Literature search, Internet, PubMed, EndNote, Word.
• Training courses of the faculty: SAS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

You can use several e-learning-platforms:

• Moodle, Heidelberg University's e-learning platform, which can be used, for example, to access lecture notes and exam results (in German)
• KELDAmed, an annotated medical e-learning database

Dates, documents and other information.

On the platform SciTec@MedMa (in Moodle, in German), you find general information on the doctoral programme in Mannheim and you can use tutorials for biomedical information research and for EndNote (literature management), Excel and Word.
