Xia Cheng studied chemistry at the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg until the end of 2016. In her master thesis on "Biotinylation of an epoxide related to the naphthoquinone dioncoquinone B with effective activity against multiple myeloma", she worked on the synthesis of antitumoral naphthoquinones and their biotinylation in the field of natural product synthesis and medical chemistry in order to subsequently determine their target proteins, using mass spectrometry-based affinity capture experiments.
Since 2018, she has been working on the development of radiolabeled heterobivalent peptides for early, highly efficient and highly specific imaging of human malignant melanoma by positron emission tomography (PET).
