The "3G rule" applies in libraries, please remember to bring either your vaccination card, proof of recovery or a current test. The proofs will be checked at the counter.
Short stays to pick up literature, for example, are also possible without proof.
Masks are compulsory at the workplace (FFP2 mask).
The library is open from Monday to Friday from 8am - midnight (between 6 pm & midnight the security service takes over). Saturday / Sunday from 9am - 10pm.
Please note: The PC-Pool L18 is no longer available as a learning room, as it is needed for seminars.
Books can be borrowed independently in the library or via mail order.
Compulsory use of masks, distance and hygiene rules, walking paths
Please wear a mouth and nose protection in the library, this does also apply to the place of work.
Please enter the library one at a time and follow the paths marked with arrows on the floor and the general rules of distance (at least 1.50 metres). Hand disinfectants are available in the foyer and in the library.
Access authorization for UMM affiliates only
Until further notice, access authorization is limited to members of the faculty and the hospital (except short stay for e.g. loans).
Please show your "3G proof" and your student card (or only MaReCuM-Campus-Pass) or your staff ID card at the counter.
You will then receive an access card and, if necessary, a basket from us. The access card should be taken with you when you leave the library for a break and be showed again when you enter. The card must be returned when finally leaving the library.
Workstations
As of 25.10.21, all seats in the library are open for use again.
In the annex, the small PC pool L-17 can be used outside of the courses taking place there, the large PC pool L-18 is reserved for courses from 4.10.2021, see also here.
The group study rooms remain closed.
There are 4 monitors in the work area in the back for connecting to notebooks/iPads. However, due to corona conditions without keyboard/mouse.
All devices in the print room may be used (black and white printer, multifunction printer, scan station). Please make use of the hand disinfectants provided.
Borrowing & Returning
Borrowing on site
Books can be borrowed on site via the two self-checkout stations behind the roundabout.

You can also have books from our stock sent to you (for a flat processing fee, see below).
Conditions:
- By placing an order, you agree to pay a handling fee of EUR 5.30 per order.
- An order can contain a maximum of 5 books.
- One order can be placed per week.

Returns and renewals
You can check the loan periods of your borrowed items in your library account if necessary. If it is no longer possible to renew independently via your library account, please contact us (bibliothek@ or 383-3710/3700). medma.uni-heidelberg.de
It is possible to return media via the book return station in the entrance hall.
Lockers, storage compartments, baskets
The lockers are accessible. Baskets are handed out at the counter on request.
The open storage compartments in the library are not accessible.
Courses
Some of the optional courses take place as online courses.
The Book a Librarian advice service will be continued by telephone or online (e-mail, heiCONF, ...) or personally. The person who is responsible will contact you to make arrangements.
Submission of dissertations (theses)
Dissertations can be handed in on site or by postal delivery (the delivery address can be found on our contact page).
Validation of the student ID
Access to the validation machine is possible.
Discharge notes for the de-registration (exmatriculation)
Can be issued again on site by e-mail to bibliothek@. medma.uni-heidelberg.de
