Regulations from 16.12.2020

Library remains closed for the time being

We will constantly reassess the situation and resume regular operations as soon as it is safe to do so. At this time, no reliable statements can be made as to when this might be the case. As soon as there is news, we will inform you here, on our homepage and in the newsblog.

Book orders and returns, submission of dissertations, and validation of student ID cards will still be possible until then. Please refer to the sections "Loans, Returns, Fees", "Submission of Dissertations" as well as "Validation of the student ID" for details on the procedure.

Please note: Currently, all persons on the entire UMM campus must wear an FFP-2 mask. Appropriate masks will be issued at the entrances as needed.

If you have any questions, the library team can still be reached via email bibliothek@remove-this.medma.uni-heidelberg.de. Mondays to Fridays we are also available by phone between 9am-5pm, the general phone numbers (-3700 | -3710) are staffed again, but please contact the specific person for your request if possible.

Borrowings, returns, fees

As of Monday, 18.01., media ordered in advance (books, tablets, USB sticks with statistical software) can be picked up from Mon-Fri by individual appointment.

Pick-up periods:

You can make an individual appointment with us for pickup Mon-Thu from 9am-5pm and Fri from 9am-1pm.

How does the order work?

Please write us an email to bibliothek@remove-this.medma.uni-heidelberg.de and tell us:

  • the media you need
  • user number
  • the possible collection day and time

We will book the media for you and contact you with detailed instructions for collection.

Returns are also possible again from 18.01.21. Please note that the loan periods have been adjusted due to the closure and decide individually if it is necessary to come to the clinic grounds. You can check the loan periods of your borrowed items in your library account if necessary. If it is no longer possible to renew independently via your library account, please contact us (bibliothek@remove-this.medma.uni-heidelberg.de).

ATTENTION: Access to house 42 - and thus to the BookReturn - is only possible without a key card during pick-up hours (Mon-Thu 9am-5pm & Fri 9am-1pm).

If you need to return a tablet, please contact us by email (bibliothek@remove-this.medma.uni-heidelberg.de) to make an appointment.

Document-Delivery-Service

The literature delivery service continues for the time being, orders can be placed. We will inform you by e-mail which way you can receive articles or books.

However, there will be service restrictions.

Please note: No orders will be processed between 24.12.20 and 003.01.21.

Submission of dissertations

Dissertations and postdoctoral theses can be sent to the library by post. Please refer to our contact page for the delivery address.

On-site drop-off is also possible - please contact us by mail to arrange an appointment (bibliothek@remove-this.medma.uni-heidelberg.de).

Please note that there is currently a delay in processing.

Validation of the student ID

If it is urgent that you validate your student ID, please contact us to make an appointment either by phone at 0621/383-3700 or by mail via bibliothek@remove-this.medma.uni-heidelberg.de.

Appointments are possible during the following times:

Mon - Thurs from 9am - 5pm

Fr from 9am -1pm
