Maike Schröder, M.Sc.

Maike Schröder has been working as a staff scientist at the Center for Preventive Medicine and Digital Health (CPD) since November 2022. She is currently involved in a project to conceptualize and implement a primary care network for children with chronic diseases in Mannheim. Prior to joining the CPD, she worked as a research associate for three and a half years at Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts in a project to develop a web-based planning tool for interventions to prevent childhood obesity in schools and municipalities.

In her bachelor's degree, Maike Schröder studied Nutritional Sciences and Home Economics (Oecotrophologie) at the University of Applied Sciences in Mönchengladbach. In 2019, she finished her master's degree in Nutritional Sciences at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen. In her bachelor and master's thesis, she already focused on obesity prevention in children and adolescents using qualitative research methods. Since June 2020, she is a PhD student at Osnabrück University and Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Her research focuses on the preparedness and ability of municipalities for obesity prevention in childhood and youth (Community Readiness).
