The STMM will offer a variety of events for young researchers. Dates can be found in the event calendar. For doctoral students, three major courses are currently being planned: Here, teaching content is bundled to enable an effective structured programme:

STMM Introductory Week (first year of doctorate, preferably at the beginning).

The Introductory Week will include an introduction to the UMM and its research areas, information about the STMM, and guidance about other resources. Lectures on good scientific practice and courses on key scientific skills will be offered. This event will take place several times a year.

STMM Spring School (Year 2)

The focus of the Spring School will be on soft skills training (e.g. presentation skills, networking), as well as career development, including insights into industry and academic careers. Guest speakers will present real-life examples. This event will be combined with the TMR/IMIM Master's programme Industry & Innovation Days.

STMM Summer School (Year 3).

The Summer School will be organised by PhD students. PhD students give short talks about their research work that should be accessible to a multidisciplinary audience. External key note guest speakers will also be invited. Additional workshops on key scientific skills and subject-specific topics will also be offered.
