Tom Russ is a PhD candidate Heidelberg University, Germany. He received his BSc and MSc in Physics from Heidelberg University. From 2016 ñ 2017 he joined the Heavy Ion Therapy Project at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) for his Bachelor and Master thesis. There he worked on methods for real tissue measurements using dual-energy CT scans and ion range measurements in the context of ion therapy treatment planning. In 2018 he joined the institute of Computer Assisted Clinical Medicine for his PhD thesis investigating knowledge-based CT image reconstruction. Belonging to the research campus M≤OLIE, he now works in an interdisciplinary environment with industrial partners. Tom Russ is a member of the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (DPG).
