Elena Schuch has been working as a research assistant in the HEBEDI project at the Center for Preventive Medicine and Digital Health (CPD) at the University Medical Center Mannheim since May 2025. The project deals with the question of how environmental changes - especially in urban areas - affect health and what role community-based approaches such as community gardens can play in this.
After graduating from high school, Elena Schuch first trained as an occupational therapist and then specialized in the field of hand therapy. She then went on to study for a bachelor's degree in medical professions with a focus on therapy sciences at DIPLOMA University. She is currently continuing her studies in the Master's program in Public Health at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM) in Giessen. She is particularly interested in the connection between health professions, prevention and social conditions - with a focus on sustainable health promotion in the context of planetary health.
