Dr. rer. nat. Kristina Hoffmann, MSc PH

Kristina Hoffmann studied biology and received her PhD in molecular biology. After many years of research work both at universities and in industry, she worked as a science manager for several years.

In 2006, she started her work at the Mannheim Institute of Public Health - now the Department of General Medicine - as the scientific coordinator. She established scientific management structures in the institute and coordinated the collaboration of scientists both internally and with external partners.

From 2010 to 2016, she headed the research department "Bio-Context & Health" and studied Public Health part-time at the Dutch Erasmus University Rotterdam from 2013 to 2015. As part of this further development, she is currently leading a research program on "Health Promotion in Neighborhoods". Here, strategies are being developed to enable a realistic implementation of public health research in community health promotion practice.

At the beginning of 2014, she also took over the management of the academic teaching.
