WLAN via eduroam

Step-by-step guide to installing eduroam for different operating systems.

eduroam for Apple devices:

  1. Please connect to an existing network source (Uni-Webaccesss, UMM Gast oder HotSpot).
  2. Go to https://cat.eduroam.org.
  3. Click on the blue button and select your home university "Universität Heidelberg".
  4. Click on the blue button again - a login notice for the user name appears.
  5. Click on "next", the download will start automatically. Your profile will be loaded.
  6. Check your profile in the settings of the device and then click on "install".
  7. A login message for the user name appears.
  8. Please confirm and complete the installation.
  9. Select "eduroam" in the WLAN settings of the device and wait until the connection is established.
  10. Log in with Uni-ID@remove-this.uni-heidelberg.de and your password.
  11. Wait again for the connection to be established (may take a few minutes).

eduroam for Android devices (from version 11):

  1. Please connect to an existing network source (Uni-Webaccesss, UMM Gast oder HotSpot).
  2. Open your Playstore and search for "eduroam".
  3. From Android 11, select the "geteduroam" app and download it to your mobile device.
  4. Select " Universität Heidelberg " under "Your organisation".
  5. Log in with Uni-ID@remove-this.uni-heidelberg.de and your password.
  6. Select "Connect to network" and the eduroam connection will be established.

eduroam for Android devices (version 8-10):

  1. Please connect to an existing network source (Uni-Webaccesss, UMM Gast oder HotSpot).
  2. Open your Playstore and search for "eduroam".
  3. For Android 8-10, select the "eduroam CAT" app and download it to your mobile device.
  4. Log in with Uni-ID@remove-this.uni-heidelberg.de and your password.
  5. Select "Install". After successful installation, the note "Profile installed" appears in light green letters.
  6. eduroam should automatically be connected as WLAN.

eduroam for Windows devices:

  1. Please connect to an existing network source (Uni-Webaccesss, UMM Gast oder HotSpot).
  2. Go to https://cat.eduroam.org.
  3. Click on the blue button and select your home university "Universität Heidelberg".
  4. Click on the blue button again - a login notice for the user name appears.
  5. Click on "next", the download will start automatically. The programme is saved.
