Industry and Innovation Days 2023

The sixth Industry and Innovation Days are coming up soon!

The main aim of the Industry and Innovation Days is to give master and PhD students from the health science continuum (life science, medical technology, psychology, medicine and more), as well as young clinical researchers the opportunity to interact, network and explore new ideas with local start-ups, industry professionals and professionals from other areas. For the first time doctoral students and researchers can get first-hand information about resources of Uni Heidelberg’s central institutions and meet with the experts of the transfer organisations. You can join on both days or for selected parts of the event.

Programme

The sixth year of the Industry and Innovation Days will start on Friday morning with insights on the Entrepreneurship Journey – first from the perspective of Prof. Olga Belousova, Centre for Entrepreneurship, University of Groningen, then filled with health science aspects by Dr.  Michaela Arndt, CEO of Heidelberg ImmunoTherapeutics GmbH. Afterwards, listeners will gain a deep insight into presenting skills during Colin Bennett’s Psychology of Persuasive Presentations.

During lunch the participants will be joined by representatives from Uni Heidelberg’s resources for young researchers and entrepreneurs (heiINNOVATION, the Graduate Academy and Science Value GmbH) and from local science & innovation networks (such as the Health + Life Science Alliance Heidelberg Mannheim, BioRN, EIT Health and NEXT Mannheim), and can get answers to their questions concerning anything from course & workshop resources to patenting or starting up their own business.

They will learn how to build and improve their network in The Science of Networking by Dr. Lenka Kyjacova, Molecular Health GmbH, before industry representatives will give short talks to provide a perspective on their work and company activities in the Industry from the Inside session. There will again be time for networking and questions during dinner.

The second day of the event is going to be dedicated to Career Perspectives. During the interactive Round Table Session, participants are going to receive insights on what it takes to develop a successful career both inside and outside the academic environment.
