Biomedical Informatics

The Department of Biomedical Informatics was established in 2018 with the appointment of the Chair of Medical Informatics.

The department is dedicated to developing and managing the research IT infrastructure in line with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research’s 's medical informatics initiative (MII). In addition, it conducts trials and assessments of mobile and sensor-based health solutions and applies machine-learning techniques to image and time series data.

This initiative's connecting link and focal point lies in establishing coherent data structures and interfaces across different locations, ensuring their seamless interoperability, and assessing the usability of the resultant solutions.
