FAIR research data refers to data—particularly from medical and scientific research—that adheres to the FAIR principles. These internationally recognized guidelines were developed to ensure that research data is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable—by both humans and machines.

FAIR data offers clear practical advantages and has become a widely accepted standard in the research community.
You need FAIR medical research data in order to:
- enhance the sustainability and efficiency of research,
- enable and improve collaboration,
- ensure data can be reused—including for AI applications,
- manage patient data responsibly,
- and fulfill requirements from third-party funders.
