Neuroanatomy

The Institute of Neuroanatomy is comprised of three research groups each addressing different aspects of neuronal development and function. Of particular interest are events of neuronal plasticity at the cellular level, ranging from activity-dependent modulation of action potential generation at the axon initial segment to cellular organelles such as peroxisomes contributing to normal neuronal function and pathology as well as the progression of neurodevelopmental diseases with a focus on tauopathies.
