The Core Facility Preclinical Models is a central facility of the Medical Faculty Mannheim and serves interdisciplinary research at the Universitätsmedizin Mannheim (UMM).

The Core Facility includes the experimental animal facilities of the Core Facility Preclinical Models with breeding unit, experimental unit, quarantine and fish unit, as well as the laboratories for processing histology samples and blood and urine samples of small experimental animals. The office of the animal welfare officers is also located here.

Scientists of the Medical Faculty Mannheim can access specific services for their own research via the Core Facility Preclinical Models.
