Clinical Pharmacology bridges basic science and patient care, aiming to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based drug therapy. Our focus areas include:
Teaching
We offer interactive, clinically relevant education in Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy for medical students with a strong emphasis on evidence-based medicine.
Translational research
We investigate the role of innate immunity in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. We aim to develop novel therapeutic strategies to inhibit tissue injury and block inflammatory paths, reducing cardiovascular risk.
Pharmacovigilance
As the designated Responsible Person (RP) for pharmacovigilance at Heidelberg University, we coordinate safety reporting (via EudraVigilance) and oversee drug safety activities in clinical trials.
