The Microscopy Core at the Department of Immunopharmacology (DIP) supports research on inflammation and tissue immunity through advanced imaging technologies. Our facility enables high-resolution visualization of biological samples to uncover how immune processes shape organ remodeling and repair. Using complementary approaches such as light-sheet and high-throughput fluorescence microscopy, we study cellular organization, molecular signaling, and tissue architecture under both physiological and pathological conditions.
Light-Sheet Microscopy
Light-sheet microscopy enables three-dimensional imaging of large, optically cleared specimens with minimal photodamage. By illuminating samples with a thin sheet of light, this method selectively excites single optical planes, allowing rapid volumetric imaging while preserving spatial context at cellular resolution. Its compatibility with diverse tissue-clearing techniques offers flexibility for a broad range of biological samples and organ systems.
High-throughput Fluorescence Microscopy
Fluorescence microscopy is used for both live and fixed samples, providing high spatial resolution for multi-channel imaging of cellular and molecular markers. Automated scanning and image stitching allow for large-area reconstruction, while the integrated environmental chamber ensures precise control of temperature, humidity, and gas composition for long-term live-cell studies.
