The Biomedical Engineering program at the Medical Faculty Mannheim offers a comprehensive education that combines engineering, biology and medicine. Students acquire knowledge in areas such as medical technology, biomechanics, image processing and signal processing.
The central contents include:
- Mathematics and natural sciences: fundamentals in mathematics, physics and chemistry that are necessary for understanding biomedical systems.
- Engineering fundamentals: mechanics, electrical engineering and computer science to develop technical solutions.
- Biomedical fundamentals: anatomy, physiology and cell biology to understand the biological systems at the heart of medical technology.
- Specialization: in-depth study in areas such as medical imaging, biomechanics, biomaterials and regenerative medicine.
- Practical applications: Laboratory practicals and projects that allow students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world applications.
The program promotes interdisciplinary thinking and prepares students for a career in medical technology, research or clinical applications.
