Frank Giordano is the Managing Director of the Mannheim Institute for Intelligent Systems in Medicine. He is a board-certified radiation oncologist who serves as Full Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Medical Faculty Mannheim, University of Heidelberg. Prior to this, he led the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Bonn. His work in medical technology for cancers of all types has earned him appointments as an expert for Germany's Federal Joint Committee (G-BA), a Committee Member on the Career Development Program of the German Cancer Aid (Deutsche Krebshilfe), roles on several German Guideline Commissions, and editorial boards of oncological journals. He received his MD from the University of Heidelberg and completed his radiation oncology training with fellowships from the Else-Kröner-Fresenius Foundation and the Peter and Traudl-Engelhorn Foundation.

Martin Lablans is a computer scientist at the Medical Faculty Mannheim of Heidelberg University, heading the bridge department to the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) since 2020. His group is behind several open-source tools supporting the federated use of both clinical data and biosamples, solutions for cross-site privacy-preserving record linkage and medico-legal frameworks for data protection. The novel methods and federated "Bridgehead" data platforms developed in his group are driving numerous research networks within Germany (e.g., German Cancer Consortium, Comprehensive Cancer Centers, German Biobank Node/Alliance, National Network Genomic Medicine Lung Cancer, German Center for Infection Research) and beyond (e.g., BBMRI-ERIC, EUCAIM, Cancer Core Europe, ITCC Pediatric Cancer Consortium); for more information, see here.

Björn Wängler is one of the two deputy directors of the Mannheim Institute for Intelligent Systems in Medicine. He is a Radiopharmaceutical Chemist and holds the Chair of Molecular Imaging with a Focus on Radiochemistry. He was previously Head Radiopharmacist at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Nuclear Medicine at the Hospital of the LMU Munich. He is a reviewer for numerous research funding institutions and scientific journals, co-editor of the journal Pharmaceutics and author of more than 200 scientific publications. He received his doctorate from the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and was awarded the International Isotope Society - Central European Division's doctoral prize in 2005.
