IMIM Industry & Innovation Days 2020

The atmosphere was really motivating at the third instalment of the Industry & Innovation Days, organized by the International Master in Innovative Medicine (IMIM) at the International Scientific Form (IWH) in Heidelberg:
More than 60 participants from universities, companies and entrepreneurship organizations spent their time networking, learning and finding new opportunities.

Olga Belousova, assistant professor at University of Groningen, opened the event with an interactive talk on the "Entrepreneurship Journey". During the opening dinner the participants started with their first networking experience, which was brought to a completely new level the next day with Lenka Kyjacova’s “Intentional Networking” presentation. How to really design and give a "persuasive" presentation was shown by Colin Bennett from Flames A Mile High.

During the “Industry from the Inside” session, participants heard from Robert Klein and Selina Ballhaus (Roche Diagnostics GmbH), Olga Bogatyrova (Merck), Ebru Ercan-Herbst (BioMed X Innovation Center), Sergey Biniaminov (HS Analysis) and Valentin Kramer (AUCTEQ Biosystems GmbH) what it is like to work in a large company, SME or a Start-up. Finally, on Saturday, Ruth Merkle (Roche Diagnostics GmbH), Barbara Costa (EIT Health Germany), Machteld Hylkema (Rijksuniversiteit Groningen), Marion Gürth (DKFZ) and Lenka Kyjacova (Molecular Health GmbH) gave very personal and enlightening insights to their careers choices, challenges and chances - in areas from industry all the way to academia.

During the "Meet and Eat" breaks, students learned about the experiences and additional career opportunities from each other, the IMIM management and the many guests including Liana Shvachiy from EIT Health Alumni. Most stayed much longer than originally intended - thank you for taking the time!

Our thanks goes not only to IMIM, Heidelberg University, the Medical Faculty Mannheim, EIT Health and EIT Health Alumni for supporting the event, but also to all of the motivated participants who turned the days into an energizing and fun experience for all.

The IMIM program and the and the Industry and Innovation Day supported by EIT Health are happy to invite industry representatives from biotech, biopharma and biomedical start-up companies interested in cooperating with IMIM during the Industry and Innovation Day 2021 in Mannheim. You will have the opportunity to present your company, potentially recruit a talented student for an internship and explore the possibilities of contributing to the IMIM program.
