Informations- und Networkingevent mit dem Schwerpunkt Innovation und Industrie für junge Wissenschaftler*innen an der UMM

Die School of Translational Medicine, richtet im März die Industry and Innovation Days aus. Masterstudierende, Doktorand*innen sowie junge Postdocs und klinische Forscher*innen aus dem gesamten Spektrum der Gesundheitswissenschaften (Biowissenschaften, Medizintechnik, Psychologie, Medizin und mehr) sind eingeladen, sich mit lokalen Start-ups, Fachleuten aus der Industrie und anderen Bereichen auszutauschen und zu vernetzen. Neben spannenden Vorträgen, Informationen zu Karriereperspektiven und Insiderinfos aus verschiedenen Berufsfeldern, gibt es Programmpunkte zum Präsentieren, Netzwerken und Bewerben.

Nach „The Entrepreneurship Journey“ von Prof. Olga Belousova, Abteilung für Innovationsmanagement und Strategie, Universität Groningen, werden die Teilnehmer direkt in die Sitzung "Industry from the Inside" einsteigen, in der Vertreter großer und kleiner Unternehmen und Start-ups in kurzen Vorträgen über ihre Arbeit berichten werden.

In der Keynote Lecture wird Dr. Manasi Aichmüller-Ratnaparkhe (PAICON GmbH) den Fokus nicht nur darauf lenken, was es bedeutet, als Wissenschaftlerin ein eigenes Start-up zu gründen, sondern auch die Rolle der KI im Gesundheitsbereich beleuchten.

Der Rest des Nachmittags ist den Karriereperspektiven gewidmet. Während der interaktiven Gesprächsrunde erhalten die Teilnehmer von erfolgreichen akademischen Gruppenleitern, wissenschaftlichen Projektmanagern, globalen Branchenexperten und Gründern Einblicke in die Voraussetzungen für eine erfolgreiche Karriere innerhalb und außerhalb des akademischen Umfelds.

Information and networking event with the main focus on innovation and industry for young scientists at the UMM The Industry & Innovation Days – organised by the School of Translational Medicine, the umbrella organization for young scientists at the Medical Faculty Mannheim - are dedicated to careers in industry and elsewhere as well as to networking.

Master and PhD students as well as young postdocs and clinical researchers from the health science continuum (life science, medical technology, psychology, medicine and more) are invited to interact and network with local Start-ups, pharma industry professionals and professionals from other areas. In addition to exciting presentations, e.g. with topics in AI, information on career perspectives and insider information from various professional fields, the agenda includes presenting, networking and job application strategies.

On Friday morning Prof. Olga Belousova, Department of Innovation Management and Strategy, University of Groningen, will share her knowledge on the Entrepreneurship Journey and the question what entrepreneurship entails. Then participants will jump right into the Industry from the Inside session where representatives from large to small enterprises and start-ups will give short talks on their work and company activities.

During lunch there will be time to network with speakers and the local science, innovation and start-up networks, followed by the Keynote Lecture by Dr. Manasi Aichmüller-Ratnaparkhe from PAICON GmbH, who will not only show what it is like to found your own start-up as a scientist, but also spotlight the role of AI in the health field.

The rest of the afternoon will be dedicated to Career Perspectives. During the interactive round table session, participants will receive insights on what it takes to develop a successful career both inside and outside the academic environment from successful academic group leaders, scientific project managers, global industry professionals and founders. We will wrap up our day with more opportunities for networking during coffee and snacks.
